Early Head Start
Program Overview
Providing child development and family support services on a year-round basis, Early Head Start offers comprehensive child and family development activities to low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers. Children from birth until their third birthday receive quality child care while parents obtain educational services and resources at one of four centers across Hinds County.

Eligibility
The program serves infants and toddlers up to three years old and young pregnant mothers, with priority given to pregnant teens. Families of children with disabilities are encouraged to apply. To apply, you must present the following: proof of child’s age; family income; residency in Hinds County; and a verification form from your doctor (if pregnant).
Dates and Times:
Applications are taken at all Early Head Start sites between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
