Each year HCHRA hosts a number of community events, and we couldn’t do it without your help. We are excited to work together with community organizations, local partners, and our neighborhood residents to bring these events to life. HCHRA 25th Annual Awards & Recognition Gala

HCHRA extends a special invitation for you to participate in our 25th Annual Awards & Recognition Gala on September 20th to celebrate community partners, supporters, clients, and volunteers who work with us throughout the year. We are excited to announce that this year’s keynote speaker is Mr. Derrick Johnson President and CEO for the NAACP. Mr. Johnson is a veteran activist who has dedicated his career to defending the rights and improving the lives of Mississippians. As State President of the NAACP Mississippi State Conference, he led critical campaigns for voting rights and equitable education.

The Gala is Hinds County Human Resource Agency’s annual signature event, which helps to provide matching funds for services such as home-delivered meals, congregate meal sites, and Hinds County rural public transportation. Our programs and services would not be available without the invaluable support of our community and corporate partners.

Our goal is to help families and strengthen communities. All donations made to Hinds County Human Resource Agency are tax-deductible. With your support, we can help reach the unique needs of families in Hinds County. Click on the picture below to show your support. We look forward to seeing you on September 20th!

Walk in My Shoes – HCHRA 5K Poverty Awareness Run/Walk

Helping families. Strengthening communities. That’s our goal. And you can help reach it. Hinds County Human Resource Agency’s (HCHRA) most recent community strengths and needs assessment reveals five key factors that impact people living in poverty: food, housing, health, education, family and economic security. Whether it’s emergency assistance, education, food or housing, each family’s needs are unique, and HCHRA pairs them with the right opportunities to address their needs and help break the cycle of poverty – permanently.

The mission of HCHRA is to empower disadvantaged Hinds County citizens to become self-reliant and realize their full potential. Proceeds from the Walk in My Shoes 5K Poverty Awareness Run/Walk 2019 benefit the many programs and services provided by HCHRA.

From toddlers to teens to adults…Let’s run/walk together to help those in need. Click the picture below to register by August 9 to receive the Early Bird Discount.
