Head Start Grants Management Director
Robert Scott attended Jackson State University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration.
Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Mr. Scott accepted a position as an Accountant with Boston Gas Company in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was employed from July 1979 to November 1982. In this role, he was responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. He also operated and maintained financial software systems, managed capital and plant asset records, and facilitated wire transfers through the First National Bank of Boston to support payroll, federal tax deposits, interest payments, bond obligations, and union pension funds.
Mr. Scott has dedicated over forty years of service to the Hinds County Human Resource Agency (HCHRA). He began his tenure in October 1985 as the Energy Coordinator, overseeing the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Emergency Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP). After earning his Master of Business Administration, he advanced to the Head Start Grants Management Director role in December 1990, a position he continues to hold today.
