Seniors and disabled individuals now have an opportunity to gather together and enjoy a healthy and nutritious meal through the Congregate Meals Program. With the goals of reducing senior isolation and promoting independence, this program provides thousands of meals to seniors and children in order to have an intergenerational “sit down” fellowship-style lunch at one of two locations: Edwards Neighborhood Service Center and Fannie Jackson Neighborhood Service Center.
Must be at least 60 years of age or disabled and reside in rural Hinds County (Edwards, Terry, Raymond, Utica, Bolton). The spouse of the eligible person may apply, regardless of age. If disabled persons under the age of 60 live in the home of the eligible participant, the disabled person may eat at the congregate site if accompanied to the site by the eligible participant.
