Field Trips are suspended at this time due to COVID-19.
WHAT IS THE POLICY COUNCIL?
The Policy Council is comprised of parents of currently-enrolled children and community representatives who desire to become involved and lend their support to the Head Start Program. The Policy Council meets monthly at the Hinds County Human Resource Agency Central Office.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE POLICY COUNCIL?
Parents elect Policy Council members at each Head Start and Early Head Start Center. The community members are selected from local businesses, civic and professional organizations, and others agencies familiar with resources and services for low-income children and families.
WHAT IS THE PARENT COMMITTEE?
As a Head Start parent, you are a part of the Head Start Parent Committees. These committees are the best way to become actively involved with your child’s Head Start and/or Early Head Start Center. Parent Committees host monthly meetings at each center. Officers are elected, and training is provided for each committee. Please check your school’s bulletin board for meeting dates.
WHO DO I CONTACT AT MY CHILD’S CENTER?
Please contact the Center Administrator at your child’s center if you have any questions.
